We didn't want to do our traditional drive to Idaho for their celebration this year. Scott has to travel 3 out of the 4 weeks in January, so home sounded pretty good to him. (at least one of the weeks is for a family trip so I get to see him!)
We spent the evening at home just our little family of four. I blew the grocery budget and got us a bunch of snack foods and soda pop to munch on while we played the night away. That is kind of the New Years tradition that I don't want to let go of. I had the kids help me make party hats and a banner for the event. They had a blast in the craft room and it got them really excited for the evening.
Scott was having emergency's at work so he spent most of the time on his computer.... but he did get to come play the Wii with us for about 20 min before he crashed on the love sack and serenaded our party with his snoring! lol. After a while I found myself getting tired and snappy with the kids so I called the party. The kids were bummed and said "But it isn't even midnight yet!!!" I thought that is was at least 10:30 though so I told them they could have a sleep over in sisters room for the rest of the night. When I looked at the clock it was only 9:30!!!! Oh well... the kids played in Amalyssa's room until midnight when dragon mom came roaring into the room and said "Party is over... go to your own rooms!" -I had been unsuccessfully trying to sleep while they giggled and played, at mid night I figured it was time for the party to really be over.-
Here are some pictures from the evening.
Scott working hard.

Oohhh... scary....
