It's a BOY!

So I have to tell you all about the TOTAL SHOCK that I got tonight. (just to clarify... no I am NOT pregnant nor announcing any such thing....lol)

Our dear sweet daughter Amalyssa goes to pre-k now, and they have this wonderful thing called 'show and tell'. Since we don't have cable this is Amalyssa's way of getting 'inspiration' for new toys she HAS to have. One girl brought a baby doll that Amalyssa wanted REALLY BAD. Dad and I decided it was time to teach her how to EARN something she wants. So we set up rules and when she reached a certain goal we would go buy her the baby. Well tonight was the BIG NIGHT! She met the final goal and had earned her baby. I took her to the closest store since it was later in the night and had no intention of 'shopping around' for the baby tonight. When we got to the store they had the doll she wanted in two variety's. A black baby in a pink shirt and a white baby in a blue shirt. I had really hoped for the white baby in the pink shirt but of course they were all gone. So I let her make a choice between the two they had (because I was NOT going 'searching' for this doll on a Saturday night in SLC!) She chose the blue doll.... obviously meant to be a boy... but of course she said it was a girl. Not a problem.... or so I though.

We get home and get the doll out of the package and start playing with it. Well the baby is one that 'drinks' and then 'wets' it's diaper. So naturally Amalyssa takes the diaper off..... AND WHAT A SHOCK MOM GOT!!!!! Apparently this doll is anatomically correct!!!!! EEEKKKK..... very much NOT a girl!!! (it's not very graphic but you can tell this is not a unisex doll) Since WHEN are dolls anatomically correct!?? It totally wigged me out!! LOL. I searched the box and sure enough on the front in LITTLE LETTERS is said the doll was anatomically correct..... I now have a greater respect for the term "read the fine print"!!!!!

After debating with dad... trying to get Amalyssa to let us take it back and get a girl one... and discussing the situation for quite a while.... we decided to let her keep the boy baby... but she HAD to call it a boy... (she kept saying "I will just pretend it is a girl") She agreed to call it a boy so we let her keep the doll. {If you are offended by our parenting choice then I am sorry.... but it was our choice..LOL}
Since we decided to let her keep the boy doll we let her give it a drink and let him 'do his thing' LOL. Farly quickly after 'finishing' the bottle the baby starts to cry and fuss... telling you the diaper is 'full', so Amalyssa takes the diaper off and gets a BLAST of water squirted right at her!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA.... Apparently the baby wasn't 'done'. Man that thing has some power behind it!!!!! We were all in hysterics over it and Amalyssa thinks it is the best thing she has ever had! LOL (though she is VERY CAREFUL now when she changes the diaper and tells the baby "you won't trick me again!" ROTFL!)

So without further adieu here is our new family member 'Barry'... 'Blue Barry' to be exact (Amalyssa's name choice! LOL)

LOOOONNNGGG POST!!!!

OH MAN it has been a while since my last blog post! YIKES!!!! Guess life just has a way of slipping by when you are busy! LOL. OIY I don't even know much what to write about! LOL. Things have been good. Scott is doing great at work. It has been a bit crazy there lately for him. They have this big company merger going on and Scott is kinda the 'go to' guy for it. He has been working TONS of hours at home as well as a full day in the office.... too bad he is on salary hu! LOL It is almost all done though then he will get back to his NORMAL totally packed day of work!! LOL

I have been doing well with my 'work' too. Been having TONS of fun doing a new kit called Cherry Cordial! It is FINALLY done and I can hardly wait to launch it to the digi world! Sales at the new store have been a bit slow to pick up but that is normal. I don't have much there to sell yet and nobody knows me! HAHA. But it has been getting a bit better and I hope that I will see a good response to this new kit!

So anyway... that is more than you wanted to know about my life! HAHA... NOW for the pictures!!! I got to do a challenge this month at DSO! The challenges are just fun ways to give people new ideas of what to scrap. I am doing a photo challenge! So basically I give them a photo taking tip and then their challenge is to use the tip to take a good picture and then scrap that picture. This months tip has to do with lighting. I made a few sample layouts to get the challenge started and they are SO CUTE (if I do say so myself!!!) So I thought I would let you ALL see them!!!

First up is a page I did about Braden's favorite things. I did this because I was trying to get the kids to pose by the window so I could use my 'tip' but they weren't standing still... so I needed a still life haha. I wanted something I could do some type of page on so I snatched Braden's favorite things... I was frantically taking the pictures hoping he wouldn't come find me and steal my subject away! HAHA

Then we have one of my FAVORITE pages so far!! When I was taking pict's of the kids by the window I didn't think I was getting any good shots! Lo and behold when I loaded them up on the computer THIS BEAUTY was in with the lot of funny faces!! I LOVE IT!!! WOOT!!! Lucky shot!!! (all skill don't ya know... HAHA)

And last but most DEFINITELY not least we have these CUTE pictures of Corban!!! This is Scott's cousin Amanda's little boy. He is SUCH a Q-T!!! I took these picts a while back for her using the window lighing and so they worked great as examples for my photo challenge! Amanda was SO NICE as to let me scrap them up and post them for the world to see!! YOU ROCK AMANDA!!! (oh and p.s. these are made with my new kit!!! WOOT!)

So those are the pages I have to show off for the time being! LOL. GOOD NEWS!! Marie has decided to join the Blogging world!! YEAH! You can catch her blog here. I am also adding her and Heidi to my friends list on the side of my page so you can link to them there too!!! Who else wants to join the blog train!!!?????
