Sentiments of the Season

Well, after tragically loosing this scrapbook page in a freak accident (my computer wigged out and deleted it when I was almost done!) I have finally managed to get my challenge page done!!!! On the forum I play around in they have monthly challenges. This month I had the honor of being the challenge host! That means I get to tell every one what to do!!! LOL (ahh... power!). Anyway, the challenge was to do a scrapbook page showing something that had particular sentimental value to you this time of year. It could be a decoration, family tradition, or just a fond memory that you enjoy during this season. This was the page I did for my challenge...... the 2nd to last day of the month... but hey.... at least I got it in on time!!!

Whew....... didn't Christmas use to take FOREVER to come!? Now it seems like it is over before we even start December!!!! LOL..... Things have been a bit crazy around here as I am sure it has been for all of you too! So this will be the lost post for the year I believe. (maybe not... ya never know...lol) thought I would post a few cute pictures that I got scrapped of Braden on Christmas day last year! What a heart stealer!!! And some of the completed tree this year! :) HAPPY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!

The Tree is FINISHED (and so are my layouts..lol)

By Popular demand (mom asked about them) here are Phase 2 and 3 of our Christmas tree! Note that Amalyssa is wearing different outfits in each phase! LOL.... we really did do our tree in 3 phases!!! We put the tree up on Monday night for FHE and talked about it's symbolism in Christmas. On Tuesday The kids and I decorated the tree but I made them wait untill Dad got home to put the star up. By the time we got to it Amalyssa was in pj's and ready for bed! LOL. It was fun to see Amalyssa get so excited about the tree! She has been asking me to put decorations up since about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving!!! LOL.

Keep watching for more LO'S (layouts... or pages... hehe) I have TONS still to scrap for the season and it is only Dec 2nd!!! YIKES! I am in trouble! LOL

'Tis the Season!

Tonight for FHE we started to put up the tree!!! Dad and I were too tired and it was too late to do the lights and ornaments too! LOL... So we just put up the tree..... SOOOOO.... Here is my page for 'phase 1' of putting up the Christmas tree! Tomorrow the kids and I will put all the lights and glitz on the tree.... Wish me luck!!!! LOL....

IAN ROCKS!!!!! Just like the rest of my Fam!

Friday was great!!!!! Getting to see Ian and finally give him a great big hug was SO FUN! The other kids were out of school and John came over so we were all together and having a BLAST!!! John is quite the jokester and was spraying whipping cream all over Adam (who was nicely protected in John's leather coat). I decided to give John a treat and let him see my wild side. I calmly took the whipping cream can and proceeded to top his head like an Ice cream Sunday! LOL.... WHAT A FACE! He never saw it coming!

IAN IS HOME!!!! Well.... ok.. technically he is in the car on the way home! (I know I know... I need to feel sorry for the poor guy!!!) I get to go to Fairview and meet him on Friday! I am SO EXCITED!!! Check the blog for some layouts of it later!

As for now this is my pic of the week!! Amalyssa took the lenses out of a cheep pair of sunglasses. Braden thought they were the coolest thing ever!! I snapped this photo of him! Scott looked at it and said "I love it! He is practicing to be a computer geek!!!!" LOL. So here is my little geek in the making!!! Ain't he cute!!!!

It has been a great week here! I finished a new kit!!! That is always exciting to me!! Here are a few LO's I made with it. Of my Sassy princess of course! Some are more recent some are much older of her... but all adorable!!!! LOL

Found out that my Half Brother is coming home from his mission on Monday for surgery! He tore a muscle in his leg (or something). He will be released but only for the recovery time. he will finish his mission once he has healed. We are trying to be sad here on the home front BUT of course we are a little excited! Me ESPECIALLY since I have NEVER met him!!!! I can't WAIT!!!! LOL

Anyway have fun looking at the picts and leave comments if you will!!!!! That way I know you people are really looking! LOL

Halloween Fun!

Here are the rest of my Halloween pages for 2007! Halloween was a TOTAL blast this year!! Amalyssa was really into the whole season from pumpkins to spiderwebs on the house! It was really fun to watch her dress up on Halloween! She sat for a HALF HOUR just so I could make her hair beautiful. She loved being the "Sparkliest Fairy." Braden didn't really know what was going on except that he loved wearing the costume! I tried it on several times while I made it and he would run right over and plop in my lap to get it on! Then he would run and giggle like crazy!! I had to make him a penguin costume because you just can't buy a cute one and the way he runs I knew he just HAD to be a penguin this year! Have fun looking at the pages and reading the rest of the stories that I journaled on them. I am not sure how easy the journaling will be to read so let me know if you can't read it and I will post just the journaling for you. Halloween was so much fun this year! Amalyssa has been waiting all month long to wear her fairy costume and go trick or treating!! She loved every minute of it!!!

To all who stumble here! This is the sketchy start of my very own blog!! I hope to get it looking nice and up to par very soon, but being a full time mom leaves little time to learn a whole new world! LOL.....

Eventually this blog will contain tutorials for creating basic digital scrapping elements such as; background papers, embellishments, ribbons, pins, and more! I will be using a free program called Gimp! That means that you don't have to break the bank just to test your hand at digital designing!! Many people say that Gimp is confusing but I learned it from scratch (and I am not what you would call a computer wiz) and I want to teach it to you!!!! I will start with things as basic as just downloading the program and opening a document and then we will work our way up!

I hope that you will all find this adventure profitable and I hope that I can muddle through all this HTML/XML /blog/blinkies/ posting madness!! LOL!!! I feel like I am barely staying afloat in all this new information.... nevertheless I LOVE to learn and to teach so I hope to get through this process unscathed!!!!
