So I am just hopping on here for an update. Haven't written anything for a while so it is time!
Amalyssa decided to do one more pageant. I wanted her to have the opportunity a second time where we both knew more what to expect. I have to say that she was BRILLIANT!!!! She walked the runway with her head held high and the most natural beautiful smile I have seen on her! She hit all her poses and did a professional turn at the end of the runway! It was breathtaking!!!! Honestly I was the happiest/proudest parent there! You can imagine how horrible it was then for both of us when we found out the Judges apparently had their eyes closed for her walk and chose three other contestants to win the crowns. (seriously... she did WAY better than the other girls! And of course I am NOT bias AT ALL!!!!) Some tears were shed by both of us but hers were remedied when we let her buy something off of 'the table'. {you know... the table with the highly overpriced branded merchandise} I on the other hand still fret over the poor decision by the obviously blind judges! That is why we are cooling the pageant scene for now (that and we are plumb out of money!) Maybe next year... maybe not. We don't have to stress over that for a while though. BTW a BIG THANK YOU to those who bought cards from Amalyssa to help her raise her own money for the second pageant. It was a wonderful experience for her!

Now Amalyssa wants to start a book club! Yep... she is a go getter alright!! Too bad I have to do most of the going and the getting for her! lol
As for other goings on in our household we are playing the school lottery game right now! Actually I suppose we are past the lottery and to the waiting list. This last year a friend of mine introduced me to the idea of Charter schools!!! We found a Charter that we are IN LOVE with! The idea is that the school is all about hands on learning experiences! To my understanding they take a field trip EVERY FRIDAY! Who WOULDN'T want to go to school there!??? Since Amalyssa is bored spitless in public school and Braden seems already bored with preschool, we thought this would be the school for us! One of the great things about Charter school is that they don't let just anybody in if you don't follow the school policys you are out! So the only ones attending the school are the ones with parents who really care (and we all know what a difference that can make) The down side of Charter schools is that not everybody gets in! (wait a minute... isn't that what she said was GOOD about charter schools??) Why yes it is! Points for being so observant! It is a two edged sword! The sharp edge is the one where your son gets a position but your daughters grade is full so she doesn't get a position. So now I have a son who is afraid to go to school without his sister and a daughter who is bummed to tears that her brother gets to go to the fun school while she is stuck in 'boring school'.
The bright side is that she is 5th on the waiting list so I am keeping my fingers crossed that she will still get in for this coming school year!! Will you cross your fingers too??
Other than all that I suppose life is same ol' same ol' here. Not that I am complaining!! Life excitement is highly over rated in my opinion!
