More deep thoughs........ aren't you excited!?

How do you eat YOUR cinnamon roll's?

Bet it isn't as fun as the way Braden eats them!

(notice the slight nod when I ask him a question)

Why is it so much easier to get stuck in a
bad situation than it is to get out of it?

I see a very deep spiritual analogy here... but it isn't coming out...
HELP KIERAN!
Sigh.... you will just have to figure out some deep meaning from this for yourselves.
(watch my silly cat panting at the end of the video... is that normal?)

Do you like to craft!?

If you do than I have a deal for you!
some limitations and restrictions apply.

Ok to explain the crafting thing.....

I am starting a monthly craft group! I am naming it Crafty Escape! You love the name right!!!??? Basically it will be a group of craft loving ladies (not that gents are unwelcome). We will meet on a set night each month to do a craft together! Each craft will cost less than $10. Our first meeting will be in Aug and I think we will be making childrens art displays kinda like the ones above. This will be a short easy craft to do and then we can talk about group details and other craft ideas for the remainder of the time.

The limitations and restriction??? Well... you kinda have to be in the Salt Lake area. Not trying to leave anyone out... but plane tickets once a month might get a bit pricey! lol Leave me a comment if you are interested in joining and I haven't already talked to you about it!!!
ALL ARE WELCOME!!!

Tina's deep questions.

How fresh is the chicken in your fridge?

Probably not as fresh as mine!

Our neighbors have chickens and occasionally they find a way into our yard. Yesterday this little one ran into the back of our spare fridge. Took a while to get her out.....

How many licks does it take to get to the
center of a Tootsie Pop?

Twice as long if you have TWO suckers!!

How do you entertain your 5 year old while waiting for the doctor?

Give her a camera.

Oh the stories I could tell......

Sheesh it has been a blogable week. Sadly I have been so busy I haven't had time to blog any of it! So here is your quick re-cap. This is the readers digest condensed version of all my stories for this week.

1. Grapefruit mayhem

Lately I have been feeling a great deal of exhaustion. The kids have been trained to let mommy take a nap when ever she wants it. I feel totally terrible about this... but it is the truth of the matter. On Monday I got Amalyssa home from school and was WIPED OUT! All I could think about was taking a nap ASAP! The kids were hungry.... so in my tired stupor I said "What do you want... then mommy is going to take a nap." They decided on grapefruit. Uh... yeah.... Now any mother in her RIGHT MIND would have either said "no... I am taking a nap so you cant have something as messy as grapefruit." Or I would have said "ok.. you can have the grapefruit and I will take a nap AFTER you have finished it." But no.... I was not in my right mind obviously because I said... "Ok.. whatever... here you go." I gave them each a half of grapefruit with extra sugar on top and then went to my bed..... Can we say "disaster waiting to happen"?????

Fast forward an hour or so (yes my naps are really that long.. and I am dead during them... we will get to that story next) I wake up from my nap because I hear Amalyssa say (in a stern and disgusted voice) "Braden Scott Sudweeks!" Oh my..... the middle name... this can't be good.

As I groggily walk into the living room I am confronted with the sudden reality of what I have done. I left my kids alone with grapefruit.............

My ENTIRE living room wall was COVERED in grapefruit splatters and juice runs. My son had apparently discovered that if you throw the half grapefruit at the wall it makes really cool patterns..... he had done this SEVERAL times. He had also been so kind as to 'mop' the tile entry way with his half of grapefruit, along with most of the kitchen table, chairs, and floor.

I have to say that I think I handled myself very well. I stood in shocked silence for what seemed like an eternity. The kids were frozen in place... the fear of death on their faces. I finally regained enough ability to ever so quietly whisper "go to your room.... now"

I began cleaning up the mess... holding back the tears...and blaming myself until I had regained enough composure to talk to the kids about it rationally. They still didn't get off easy mind you.... but they didn't get yelled at in a rage either.

2- The doctor

Because of Mondays excitement I decided it was finally time to see a doctor about my fatigue. After all... leaving your kids with grapefruit while you take a nap is NOT NORMAL! The doctors appt. was mostly uneventful.... I got about what I expected to hear... "well... fatigue is very common and hard to diagnose with anything specific" The doctor seemed to understand my concern after sharing my grapefruit story with him and is trying to do his best though. He took a BUNCH of blood (which the kids both found fascinating to watch while mom tried hard to ignore the fact that their was a needle in my arm so I didn't pass out). The blood tests have all come back normal, so we are having a follow up visit next week to discuss other possible causes and treatments.

3- A new career path

My dad came over on Monday night to visit with us. We had just finished FHE. Our activity had included drawing so there were all kinds of drawing utensils lying on the table. My dad loves to draw.... and got me started doodling.... then I couldn't stop.... I ran out of paper... his arm was the next best thing! Anyone want a glitter pen tattoo of their own????

4- Scraptastic fun

After such a long week I needed a break! My lovely friends Victoria and Breeanna were more than happy to help me out with this! Yesterday we had an all day scrap extravaganza! There was paper, and glue ALL over the place.... Toys piled knee deep where the kids were playing, and laughs to make even the grayest skies bright! What a great day!!! I finished my Jamaica album too!! YAY! So if you are ever over at my house and want a peek at paradise... just let me know!!!

5- Recipe

I made a crock pot dinner on Tuesday. I have made it before... but I don't make it all that often. (I should though because it is SUPER simple and EXTRA yummy!)
I put dinner on the table and we began to eat.
Amalyssa suddenly says to me "Mom... this is DELICIOUS.... can I have the recipe!????"
Hehe..... what a Q-T. I gave her the recipe... so I will give it to you too!

4 half chicken breasts
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 envelope dry Italian salad dressing mix

Mix ingredients in a greased crock pot. Cook-
Frozen - 6-8 hours on low
Thawed 4-6 hours on low

We like to serve it over rice, but there are lots of ways you could dish this up! YUM!

For future reference.......

Never drop a can of Pam (or cheep off brand substitute) on the floor... spray nossle down... Unless you need to give your kitchen a good greasing.... then I suppose it would be a good idea.

Addicted to.......

Ok ok ok..... so I am in a bit of a strange mood tonight... what better time to blog right!?
So I am here to admit that I have an addiction..... to what you ask??

BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT!

Lame.... I know... I am not even British!! I don't have any clue what their national anthem is!!! I am not even sure WHO the queen of England is!!! Sheees.... according to spell check I can't even spell Britan right! LOL (see.... left that one un-fixed for you!)

Now here is the catch.... if I could just WATCH Britain's got talent on tv then it wouldnt be such a problem! I could get my fix and be on my way.. but NOOOOOOOooooo... I have to live in America (and I am very greatful for that... don't get me wrong). If someone knows what station I can get 'Britains got tallent' on in America please let me know! At my house we don't even get normal TV stations. We have a tv... but it is mainly to keep the kids entertained with library movies.

My addiction started with Susan Boyle..... Yes... I am a Susan fan. Marie just HAD to send me a you tube link of her..... I HATE YOU TUBE!! I groaned out loud when she sent me the link... but clicked anyway. After watching Susan preform, I was curious.... so I you tubed some more Britains got tallent videos... then some more... and MORE... AND MORE!!!! Since the Susan Boyle infection I have been faithfully folowing Britain's got tallent via you tube! Each Saturday they would air a new episode and I could spend HOURS trying to weed out EVERY SECOND of the show that I could on You Tube.

This week is the Semi Finals. They have had an episode EVERYNIGHT this week!!! I can hardly keep up!!!! I have been hitting you tube 3 times a day just to see if the videos are up yet! I am writing this blog because in my other internet window I have 'you tube' up and running so I can watch them as soon as the kids go to bed!!!!

I can hardly wait for tomorow. It is the finals tomorow... then the season is over... and I am swearing off you tube!!!

So I may not know who the Queen is.... but tomorow night I will know who she will be watching preform in the Royal Variety Show!!

I will leave you with a link to my FAVORITE 'Britain's got talent' contestent ..... and no.. it isn't Susan Boyle. This guy has given me a new moto for life.......

When the whole world turns against you.....
Just keep DANCING!

warning: clicking on this link may result in un-counted hours lost watching people with British accents preform. May cause side splitting laughter, watering eyes, and tears of emotion. Do not drink water while viewing this program, it may lead to a short circuit when you spit it out all over your key board.
