INCREDIBLE DINNER!

So I have to show off the fancy pants place Scott and I got to eat at on Tuesday night! Scotts company had a managers dinner and invited wifes. (now... Scott is NOT a manager.. lol... but he was invited!) So the company was paying for dinner... which is always a bonus no matter where you go! LOL.

The dinner was because a 'higher up' in the company was in from Pennsylvania visiting. They wanted to go somewhere unique to Utah... and BOY DID THEY EVER!!! They took us to this restaurant called Log Haven. Now if you haven't heard of it.... just go check out this web page to get the WOW factor!!

http://www.log-haven.com/parties.html

So yeah... I was excited!!!! The restaurant is located up Mill Creek Canyon and the drive up is beautiful. Then when you get there it is this beautiful Log structure across the street from a large water fall!! The grounds are breathtaking. You walk in and it doesn't have a 'lodge' feel at all. There are twinkly lights and beautiful furniture and floral arrangements all around!! There is a beautiful out door patio with its own little water fall! It was a few degrees to cold out so we ate inside.

Now to the menu. Now I never claimed to be a master chef... but I feel confident in the kitchen. I open the menu and start reading... and I think about EVERY OTHER WORD I didn't understand!!!!! LOL. Our waiter came out and did a menu 'interpretation' for us! LOL. After we all ordered the brought us out an..... horderve? We each got a plate with one TEENY TINY specialty tortilla chip with a bean mixture over it. It was literally not bigger than a quarter. OH YUM!! One bite... and OH YUM!!! LOL. Then we got the fresh bread which was also amazing. My First course was the Crab cake.... Hands down the best food I have EVER eaten in my life!!! That alone was the crowning point of the meal!!! After that I had a spinach salad and then onto the Entree. Scott and I both had the Cornish Game Hen. It was SO YUMMY... and it was served on a bed of 'parmesan polenta' which is apparently like grits... only finer... Scott LOVED them! Who knew he liked grits!?? I only took a picture of this course... since I didn't want to embarrass myself or Scott TOO MUCH! Then for desert I got to fulfil a life long dream!!!!

I LOVE the scent of Creme Brulee, like in candles and potpourri and stuff. I have never had a chance to eat it..... Until Tuesday!!!! Oh HELLO YUMMY!!!!! It was like a dream come true!! So now I can say that I have eaten Creme Brulee AND that I have eaten at a truly fancy restaurant!!!

Twice in one week!!! Nobody faint!!!

HAHA... How rare is it that I blog TWICE in one week!?? NEVER! Thought I would share with you how 'proud' of my two beautiful children today though!

Amalyssa graduated preschool!!!! WOOT! I am really excited to see her growing up so much. But it is a bit scary to think that she will officially start public school next year!! YIKES!!! Not so sure I am ready for that step!!! Here are some picts of her during her program and with her 'cap'!

This is her in 'the three little pigs' in her house of straw! Scott just looked at this picture and mentioned that this mask looks SO perfect on her because it TOTALY matches her true smile!!! I was so glad he had said that because I couldn't figure out WHY I liked this picture so much!!!! Now I know!!! It is What she would look like if she had been born one of the three little pigs!! HAHA

She was a sheep during a farm animals song

Here she is with her teacher and her 'all about me' book that they made

And here she is in her cap at home showing off her candy necklace! The necklace had a tag with a 'title' Mrs Laura had given specifically to each child. Amalyssa's was "Love of Capitol Letters" she never writes anything lower case... she just likes the capitols better! lol

And last I would like to show off my brilliant son. Today he made a new recipe all on his own... (TRUST ME... Mom was completely OBLIVIOUS to what he was up to!) The future 'Braden Crocker' Decided he would make a new breakfast soup! We are going to be rich by selling his secret recipe!!! I was thinking I would make you each pay for the recipe with a 10% discount but then I decided... Hey... you are family.... so I will let you have it for free! So without further adieu

Maple Syrup Soup
Take one pre-cut... mostly eaten Eggo waffle in a bowl. Pour in half a bottle of 'Log Cabin' maple syrup.... and VOILA... A sugar high to keep you going through the day!

Prima Ballerina

Well I suppose it is time to blog a bit again. Not to much to say... mostly because it is late at night and my brain has mostly shut down! LOL. Thought I would try something new and do a picture slide show..... it is still uploading my photos though... LOL... maybe they were a bit to big eh??

Well as some of you know Amalyssa is taking a ballet class. She just had her first competition! They were invited to a competition taking place at Lagoon on May 10th. It was optional to go but we decided since we were already shoveling money into this class she might as well have the chance to preform as much as she could! So we took a family day to Lagoon!! Only 2 other girls in her class of 8 came to the competition so there were three of them up on stage in front of maybe a thousand or so people!!! She was pretty scared when we first got there but we had to wait a while for her tams turn and watching all the other dancers got her excited. She was the BEST ballerina up there!! (no prejudice involved of course!!! LOL) She got up on stage and went to ready position and waited like a statue for the music to start... the other two were dancing around and waving and stuff. They all really did a wonderful job and Amalyssa was so excited when she came down off the stage! We got the results this last Wednesday in her dance class. Everyone who participated at Lagoon got a 'national championships' metal. AND she got a 2nd place ribbon!!!! WOOT! Now.... I don't have ANY idea how many teams they were competing against... or how the judging works in that category.... but HEY... it is a 2nd place ribbon!! They also gave out little stuffed elephants with the studio logo on the t-shirt to all the girls. Amalyssa was pretty excited about it!

Here are some picts to show off our little star!

Braden is SUCH a boy!!!

Ok... so I have a well child check for Braden tomorrow and now he looks like THIS!!!!

The two largest scabs have been there for a while. He scratched his face with his fingernails and then learned to pick the scabs and hasn't left them alone since. Then today I was at a primary meeting and he was playing outside. THREE TIMES he fell on the cement and scraped his face up!!!! ARG!!! I am hoping the pediatrician knows me well enough NOT to accuse me of abuse!!! My poor baby!!

We had Braden's birthday cake on his birthday April 25th! He loved being the center of attention and thought the cake was really neat! I was pretty proud of it myself! LOL. I had NO IDEA what to do for his cake until we were at the dollar store and they were selling these dinosaurs at 10 cents each... and the cake was born! When I was frosting the cake I had taken a bit of frosting and colored it blue for the lake. I set it aside in a bowl and left the room for a minute. Braden soon walks into the room where I am now at with the bowl of blue frosting and a SPOON!!! He was quite happy!!! LOL.... until I took it away!!!! He managed to swipe his finger through the frosting a few times while I was frosting it too! Amalyssa was trying SO HARD to be good... but you could tell that it was driving her NUTS that Braden was 'getting' frosting and she wasn't!!! Sigh.... What is a mom to do?

Yes... I am still alive!

SHEESH!!! I haven't blogged ALL MONTH!! LOL... bad me. Not that I haven't had anything to blog about... just haven't had TIME to blog. Don't really have time to do it right now... but I am anyway! LOL. I will keep it short though! So let's see... April... what have I done? I suppose the 'biggest' thing I have done was spend a week in Fairview with my half siblings! Rhea got married and went on a nice honeymoon so I carted my little ones down to her house for a week. I was really just there to keep the peace... LOL. I have the coolest brothers and sisters ever! It was a fun week and I have decided that I need to take Adam home to be my official dish washer... it was WAY TO NICE not to have to do dishes every night! LOL.... think Amalyssa is old enough for dish duty yet!?

Bradens 2 year birthday is coming up this Friday! EEK! Has it really been that long!? It goes so fast! We celebrated his birthday last night since mom was in town (on her way to Hawii.... spoiled... lol) He LOVED all the attention, balloons, and especially the gifts! He got some great stuff including a cute plastic motorcycle from Grandma Janna. Unfortunately all the toys were soon to be ignored! His last present was from Grandma Becky. She gave him a vacuum! Yep a REAL vacuum! LOL. He LOVES our vacuum but I don't like getting it out for him to 'play' with. So now he has his own little vacuum that is PERFECT for him! He didn't put it down ALL NIGHT!!! First thing this morning he wanted his vacuum! LOL... Hey... I am not complaining!!!!
